Government Services

NACUE has experience advising a wide range of government bodies on stimulating student entrepreneurship, creating entrepreneurial education institutions and developing student-centred enterprise networks. It has advised and contributed towards the policy-formation process for local authorities, regional bodies, government departments & executive agencies. It has also contributed towards international round-tables hosted by the World Economic Forum, the G20 and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

NACUE is delighted to offer the following services to government bodies at a local, regional, national and international level:

  • National Network Development Consultancy

NACUE’s unique model in which student-led enterprise societies are connected & trained, and policy & advocacy campaigns are conducted on behalf of both societies and young entrepreneurs, has attracted attention from across the World. The speed at which NACUE has expanded its network and grown the organisation has served as a best practice model for similar national youth entrepreneurship organisations in over 12 countries.

NACUE is able to accommodate visiting delegations of national government policy makers to discuss the NACUE model, and is able to offer consultancy services for those looking to implement similar models in their country. Given sufficient notice, NACUE is also able to form delegations of NACUE staff, society leaders and advisors to make overseas visits.

  • Bespoke Research & Evaluation of Enterprise in Further & Higher Education

Through NACUE’s extensive network of 100+ Further and Higher Education Institutions and 70+ enterprise societies NACUE is able to execute bespoke research projects and conduct regional and national benchmarking exercises on the enterprise activities within colleges and universities.

One such evaluation process is part of the BIS-funded Strategic Growth Project announced in November 2011. Once per academic term, NACUE is benchmarking every enterprise society against a custom developed Maturity Model and Succession Framework. The results will help individual societies track their growth and maturation, and will be written up in to an annual ‘State of Student Enterprise’ report that gives a national picture of enterprise society activity.

  • Structured Student Entrepreneurship Development Projects

NACUE has expertise running projects at a regional and national level that deliver enhanced support to students and staff building student-led enterprise activities, and develop student-centred enterprise networks. Current projects include:

    • East of England Enterprise Network
A project funded by ideaSpace and EEDA to place an experienced NACUE Director in East England to provide enhanced training and mentoring to societies in all universities across the region.
    • Strategic Growth Project
A project funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to deliver significantly enhanced support to English enterprise societies, to develop FE College enterprise societies, and to manage a society innovation fund.

NACUE is able to work with local and regional bodies plus devolved administrations to design and execute bespoke projects that deliver enhanced support for enterprise societies and young entrepreneurs within the given area.
