THE COMPANY

Mude was founded out of a desire to address a real and personal problem experienced by people who rely on medical devices, such as insulin pumps. The idea originated when one of the founders, Kat, witnessed her best friend’s struggle with finding suitable clothing that accommodated her insulin pump. This constant challenge affected her comfort, confidence, and sense of self-expression, leading to a noticeable decline in her mental health. One evening, when getting ready for a night out, Kat noticed her friend ripping the pump from her body in order to feel comfortable enough in herself when going out. Realising that she wasn’t alone in facing this issue and that a change had to be made, the team decided to take action.

Recognising the lack of stylish, practical and discreet options on the market, Mude’s founders set out to create a brand that would redefine adaptive fashion. They wanted to develop clothing that integrated seamlessly with medical devices, empowering users to live freely without compromising on comfort or style. By prioritising user involvement through co-design workshops and feedback, Mude ensures that every product meets the exact needs of the community, creating solutions that are both functional and fashionable.

THE PROBLEM
